Welcome to the Almonte Pakenham Minor Hockey Association (APMHA)!

APMHA is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing a positive, safe and enjoyable hockey experience for our players. Our association would not be possible without the time, effort and support of our parents, guardians and community volunteers. There are many ways to get involved, from helping with your child’s team and volunteering at the arena to supporting association events and lending a hand when needed. We encourage all families to pitch in where and whenever they can. Every contribution makes a difference!

The purpose of this page is to provide parents and guardians with helpful information and resources to help you become more involved, informed and engaged in your child’s hockey experience. If you have a question, concern or are unsure who to contact, please reach out to an appropriate member of the APMHA Executive. We are here to help!

APMHA follows the age classifications established by Hockey Canada and Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO). A player's age division is determined based on the age they will be on December 31 of the current playing year.

• U7 – 6 and under
• U9 – 7 & 8
• U11 – 9 & 10
• U13 – 11 & 12
• U15 – 13 & 14
• U18 – 15, 16 & 17

Parents and guardians are asked to follow this process and avoid bypassing levels unless the nature of the concern requires it.

Hockey can be an emotional sport, particularly immediately following a game or difficult situation. We ask players, parents, guardians and volunteers to observe a 24-hour cooling-off period before raising a non-urgent complaint or concern. This allows everyone an opportunity to step back, consider the situation and address it calmly and respectfully.

The 24-hour rule does not apply to urgent safety concerns or allegations involving abuse, harassment, bullying, discrimination or other serious misconduct. These concerns should be reported promptly to the appropriate APMHA representative. If you are unsure who to contact about a serious or urgent concern, please contact the Director of Risk & Discipline or the President directly.

We ask everyone in the APMHA community to communicate respectfully and constructively. Our goal is to work together to resolve concerns while keeping the safety, well-being and best interests of our players at the forefront.
