REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - LCMHL Game Scheduler Paid Position

The Lanark Carleton Minor Hockey Association is seeking applicants for an official scheduler position for house league games. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE AUGUST 17TH. LCMHL will review applications, and if required, will interview applicants.

The Lanark Carleton Minor Hockey Association is seeking applicants for an official scheduler position for house league games. In total, the LCMHL schedule will be responsible for scheduling approximately 1800 regular season games. This position will be for one LMCHL season.
 
The schedulers will be responsible for:
  • Working with home association ice schedulers to ascertain ice to schedule required house league level games;
  • Schedule regular season games according to the LCMHL Rules and Rules, using the LCMHL Statistician’s Handbook;
  • Prepare game schedule data in the appropriate format to load up into the LCMHL website.
  • Coordinate schedules with local association referee schedulers to make certain officials have been scheduled.
  • Provide assistance with the annual update the LMCHL Statistician’s Handbook where required;
  • Attend monthly LCMHL meetings (when requested), providing status of season, and identify any risks or issues related to LCMHL seasons.
 
This will be a PAID position. We are seeking candidates to submit a proposal based upon a price per scheduled game cost, including a nominal fee to reschedule games where required.  Number of games will fluctuate depending on number of teams playing per level for the season. The decision on the winning candidate will be based upon application form feedback and their proposed costs to schedule games.
 
As a paid position, the game scheduler will be responsible for their own time and materials attributed to undertaking this position.
 
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualities:
 
  1. Attentive organizational skills are essential for assuring that officials are scheduled for all games.
  2. A personal computer with Internet access is required.  LCMHL provides the facility to run the game scheduling database.
  3. Schedulers need not have played hockey, been an on-ice official nor a team official, but they should possess a thorough knowledge of the rules of Hockey Canada and league structure.
  4. LCMHL schedulers are required to complete a police background check conducted in accordance with the background screening policy of the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association.
