Bell Capital Cup News Update: Thunder ATOM A are Finalists at Scotia Bank Place against the Beijing Little Wolf !!! - the APMHA Thunders rock in the World Largest Tournament!!!

The APMHA Thunder has 3 teams in this year edition of the World largest tournament: Thunder Atom C, Thunder Atom B1 and Thunder Atom A - Congratulations to our Thunder Teams for an outstanding performance!

The Bell Capital Cup is the biggest international minor hockey tournament in the world!

493 teams are vying for the championship win. A record-number of countries are competing in this year's tournament with teams from Canada, the United States, China, Finland, Germany, Hungary and South Korea.
More than 990 games are played on 34 ice surfaces across the city. The championship game for each of the 19 divisions will be played at Scotiabank Place.

The Atom A (coached by Kevin Lee) are the finalists in this year edition and after a hard effort were defeated this Monday January 3rd (Scotia Bank Place) by the Beijing Little Wolf!
Prior to the Finals, the Thunders went undeafeted :
Round Robin:
6-4 vs Cumberland Bandits
6-0 vs Kanata Whalers
7-1 vs Aylmer Extreme
In the Quarter Final,  the Thunders extended their unbeaten streak and won 4-1 against the Cumberland Phantoms.
In the semi Finals, the Thunder beats the West End Rebels 4-0 !

The Atom C (coached by Frank Freemark) have reached the quarter final this year after winning all their round-robin games:
10-0 vs South Grenville Rangers
10-0 vs Cumberland Steelers
8-0 vs Nepean Ice Dragons
In a very exciting quarter final against the Deep River Knights, the Thunder battled until the very last minute of the 3rd period and came out on the short end with the Deep River Knight moving on to the semis with a 5-4 win. 

The Atom B1(coached by Rod Currie) reached the eliminator round this year after 3 solid wins in their round robin games:
5-1 vs South End Wildcats
7-1 vs Leitrim Hawks
3-2 vs Kanata Titans
In the following round, our Atom B1 thunder were matched up against the Masson-Angers Sharks. Our Thunders put forth a great effort but the Sharks ended up winning the game 5-1 and moved on to the Quarter final.
