SUBJECT: H1N1 - Handshaking – Game Officials
We have had numerous enquiries with respect to game officials shaking hands with team officials at the beginning of the game as part of the FAIR PLAY INITIATIVE.
While it’s important to continue to use the preventative steps outlined by Hockey Canada, we do appreciate the concerns of our membership. Therefore, until further notice, all game and team officials are directed to “verbally” acknowledge one-another in a respectful manner prior to each game.
We will continue to monitor this, as well as other preventative initiatives and will modify as warranted.
